A house has been extensively damaged by fire at Glen Innes overnight. Emergency services were called to Cross Street about 1.10am today (Tuesday 9 September 2014), after a fire was found in the home’s lounge room. Fire & Rescue NSW officers extinguished the blaze about 2am but the weatherboard and iron house was extensively damaged. A 33-year-old man, who was in the home at the time, escaped injury. A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist officers from the Forensic Services Group (FSG) once the scene has been declared safe later today.
