A huge congrats to my mother-in-law Jackie Markwood Smoot who has been nominated for the March of Dimes Heroines of Washington for her work over the last 4 1/2 years with Make-a-Wish!!! Ever since Alex returned from his own wish trip, Jackie immediately decided she wanted to help provide smiles and hope for other children by becoming a MAW Wish Grantor. Since then she has helped grant wishes for 15 kids facing life threatening illnesses and I can tell you first hand the amount of love and effort she pours into making each one special and unique! She even presented in front of large corporations on behalf of MAW to request funding for wishes, wishes cost on average around $7,000.00. Congrats Jackie, I know you are humbled by the nomination alone and just want to take this time to thank you for all the work you are doing for our kids!!! 💛
