A huge round of applause please for our Event Director Mr Stewart - TopicsExpress

A huge round of applause please for our Event Director Mr Stewart Haigh and the rest of the volunteer team. Saturday was a challenge to say the very least! Stewart had to find a safe course for us to run, with slippery mud and even more slippery ice at every turn, an out and back course was, at the very last minute forced upon us. Not an easy decision to make, and it meant the volunteer team had a manic few minutes relocation all the paraphernalia involved in making the run possible. We then had a scanner fail, which meant that Stewart had to give up a large portion of his weekend to piece together the results as best he could. Thank you to everyone who provided their finish positions and ID numbers, this made the job a great deal easier for Stewart. We are very lucky to have such a committed Event Director at Pontefract. Although we still have a number of unknown runners on the results page, here is what I can tell you:- Simon Newton was again 1st over the line in a time of 18.01. Sarah Bostwick, on her first run with us, led the ladies home in 20.26. Sarah also recorded the highest age graded score 73.65%. We had 264 finishers on a beautiful sunny and dare I say it warm morning, thank you to all of you. 19 runners enjoyed the out and back course enough to record new PBs, well done to them. Hopefully, next week the weather will be the same, but the gremlins will have left the scanner! Have a great week and we will see you all again on Saturday for episode 141. John.
