A lecturer with a government college was arrested early Thursday morning on the charge of molesting a class IX girl in a running train near Barsoi. The victim was travelling with her mother. The accused was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Jalpaiguri and has been remanded to jail custody for five days. The mother said, “Ladies like me travel by trains on a regular basis along with their daughters. But it is surprising that there was not a single RPF jawan present in the train. I demand to know who will provide us security at night while travelling in trains.”
