A letter from executive Jason Alred!! Business Ethics & Karma A few isolated incidents require that I address an important issue. It is a non-stop responsibility for Kirby and I to create a corporate environment that people can trust. One where hard work is rewarded and people have a chance to grow personally while they grow their businesses around great products and services. In pursuit of that, I want everyone to know that we simply will not put the company at risk by compromising business ethics. Nor will we allow anyone else to put the company at risk by cutting corners. While you are out networking and sharing the WakeUpNow brand, you might run into people that you’ve known for years that are also involved with WakeUpNow in another sales organization (downline). That is a great thing! They are another resource with whom you can share ideas and brainstorm strategies on how to share and grow your business. BUT… The lines of Enrollment and Sponsorship are sacred. It is not to anyones advantage to encourage an IBO to sit out 6 months and then re-join WakeUpNow within your organization (or to reserve a spot in their spouse’s or friend’s name and then buy if from them later.) Violating this business practice does not benefit anyone in the long run. Network marketing is a relationship-based business, and the truth will always come to light. To be clear, if anyone is caught operating outside of the policies set by the company, our compliance team will take swift action. In order to take this company as far as we all want to see it go, we must provide a level playing field for all distributors. As a company, we will always take a stand on doing the right thing. As the saying goes, you have to stand for something or you will fall for anything. There are 2 key reasons for our position on this issue: Ethics and Compliance I believe in the principle “do unto others as you would like others to do unto you.” In other words treat people the way that you expect people to treat you. Not only that, but if you choose to cut corners or violate policies for personal gain, eventually, bad things will happen to you. Call it Karma or just “what goes around comes around”. The bottom line is: it’s poor business practice. We cannot build our business (your personal business or WakeUpNow corporate) on poor business ethics. It is not worth the risk to our long-term success. Legacy companies like Apple and Starbucks were built using strong business principles and were not built over night. They went through many ups and downs along the way. So will WakeUpNow. And so will you. But building a legacy company requires long-term thinking in order to be successful. Personal Effort Your business starts and stops with you. You will get out of it what you put into it. Your upline has no bearing on the outcome of your success if you are not willing to take responsibility for your actions and work for daily improvements in your own business. Shortcuts like switching leaders or moving downlines will not improve you or your business. In fact, if policies have been violated, they can be a quick way to lose your distributorship altogether. We are all on WUN team, the same team. Company leadership starts with Kirby and me, and we will always ensure that this company is built with integrity and class. We want an environment of trust and teamwork where everyone works together and everyone wins. It is achievable if we do things the right way. I want to encourage all leaders in the field to continue building a culture of teamwork, self-improvement and sharing within the WUN family. We have a global vision that will help our distributors expand their business to all 50 states and across the globe as we expand. With proper policies in place, mutual trust will allow leaders to send prospects and downline members to other leaders’ meetings around the world with true Win-Win results. To you industry veterans, please take the time to educate those who may be new to the industry and do not yet know that this is unacceptable. Thank you for all of your hard work. See you in San Diego! Jason
