A letter sent to Repoter Colleen Cury at ABC News Colleen Curry, I have just read your ABC News "report" on ... Motorcyclists Pull Driver from Car in NYC, Beat Him After Collision First. You have tainted the readers/viewers by first referencing a "group of motorcycle enthusiasts" as a "gang". Gangs wear colors (vests with logos and "rockers") (Examples shown below on Facebook): #1. a M.C. 1% "club" #2. Not a M.C. 1% club #3. A rider in the group. I was able to see only one person, maybe wearing "pseudo" "colors" on this group of motorcycle riders.. I do not see the words M.C. or "1%er" on the vest. If you did, why did you not identify the "gang"? Even so, does one M.C.1%er person make it a "gang"? I do not believe that would be a true statement. That would be similar to the false statement: One Republican in a crowd makes them all Republicans. Second. You wrote "SUV after he collided into a biker" Here, you admit that a serious motor vehicle accident has just occurred. The driver has failed to stop and render aid. .N.Y. VAT. LAW § 600 : NY Code - Section 600: Leaving scene of an incident without reporting This is called "HIT and RUN" and is a serious felony and it would be the DUTY of any citizen to render aid to the injured and report or apprehend the felon in a citizens arrest until authorities arrived. Why did you not report if any of the motorcyclists stopped to help the injured party? Did the driver or any of the passengers call 911? Police response would have been rapid! The driver of the SUV later when stopped from the scene of a felony, willfully runs over another motorcyclist. This is called"Assault and Battery with a deadly weapon " another felony. For your Edification and apparent education you missed. ASSAULT IN THE SECOND DEGREE: NY PL 120.05(2) The following case sets that precedence... V C Section 13351.5 Assault With Deadly Weapon Motor Vehicle and the SUV drivers reckless driving regardless of his motive. N.Y. VAT. LAW § 1212 : NY Code - Section 1212: Reckless driving By now I hope you see where this is going...... Colleen Curry, You have really failed to report the news in a unbiased manner, and I find that totally unacceptable. The disregard for your misrepresentation on national news network is reprehensible and deplorable. Your editor should be ashamed for allowing this sensationalized National Enquirer style of trash to be put to broadcast... You should lose your jobs, as no amount of digital media backtracking can repair the damage you have caused by contaminate of your sloppy and shoddy so called journalism. Understand, that I do plan to write your editor, A.B.A.T.E of New York, and every Motorcycle Riding periodical that I can locate, of you unprofessional journalistic integrity which is missing the principles of truth, accuracy and factual knowledge. Sincerely, Joseph Moldovan Seattle WA
