A listless Argentina scrapes through to the final through a penalty shoot out...Lionel Messi is their own source of hope & redemption for the finals. ...argentine fans will be desperately looking to avenge the 1990 final defeat in the hands of West Germany. ...the chances are bleak........the 1986 Argentina team had players like Burucchaga, Voldano , Brown sharing out Maradonas burden ........but this Argentina side is pretty inferior in comparison to 1986 side.....they are heavily over dependent on Messi for creating field goals & providing inspiration ........ the German has played an outstanding brand of % game through out this world cup...Now Philip Lahm back at his position as a defender ( currently regarded as the best defender in the world) & Bastian Schwienstiger marshalling the mid field it would be tough for the Argentines...man to man the Germans are far superior and better coordinated....they may not meet out a semi final like drubbing to Argentina; but will be more than handful to the generally messy argentines led by Messi :)....also half of the German side is from Bayern Munich which is the current world beating club side for the last few years at the club levels ....last time the two sides met Argentina conceded 4 odd goals in a quaterfinal defeat......wont be surprised if Argentina gets a thrashing this time too....:)....Holland maintains its tagg as the eternal chokers in world cup football. ...they are parallel to south africa team choking up at the world cricket summit encounters. ...:)
