A little bit about me! Rick has been married to his wife Maureen, for 36 years. They have two sons, now married and 6 grandchildren. He retired from CN Railways in 2000 after 23 years where he held various positions including Assistant Purchasing Agent and Department Supervisor. Rick has always been involved with the community he lives in, whether it be as the President or Treasurer of the local community league, or volunteering with a local community project. He was very involved in Minor Hockey for many years as a referee, director, and finally as President of the South East Edmonton Recreation Association. He moved to Vulcan about 10 years ago with his wife, bringing his big ‘Ricks Towing’ truck and settling down to business in a small town atmosphere. When an injury brought the towing business to a halt, he set up business at his present location on Centre Street. For the last 6 years he has be growing and adding to his Sears Catalogue store with the Purolator/UPS Depot, Regal and the Video Store. Rick was a town councillor from 2007 to 2010 for the Town of Vulcan and is presently the vice-chair of the Vulcan Municipal Library. He has a deep commitment to the town and to the residents. Communication is essential between the townsfolk and its council. It is essential between the Town and the County. He wants to see that communication re-established!
