A little bit of improvement today. They did stop the oxycodene during the night, and today he isnt as out-of-it. He hasnt had any hallucinations and is more alert. The only bad thing about that is, He KNOWS he feels miserable today. After almost four years of living with this terminal illness, now surgery & recovery..... Todays the first time Ive heard him say... Why me Lord?ji A couple of his lab reports did cause concern. His white blood count was higher today than yesterday and his platelet count was lower. There doesnt appear to be any infection with the lungs, they did another chest X-ray today. They removed the picc line, and placed two regular IVs for his medicine dosing. Since some of the meds can affect the platelets, they first are going to discontinue some to see if that helps. We did get him up one time to walk, but he only did 2 laps and he had to stop 3 times. He cant get comfortable, right now hes resting in the chair while leaning over on three pillows which are stacked on the foot. His biggest complaints are hes very tired, has a backache and feeling like he cant breathe if hes lying down. His breathing seems short & panting, but his oxygen levels look good. He did use some oxygen a bit yesterday, but he hasnt used any today. We dont expect any other test or results today. We do expect tomorrow might be busy once the regular team of doctors are back on duty!! Praying he can have a restful night, that they find the source of his infection and tomorrow is even better. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
