A little boy with a deformed ear just came into tuggers pool with his mum. The other kids started pointing and laughing at him on first sight. Now, the little boy was too young to know that he was any different to the other kids so he joined in laughing with them, thinking it was a game. This made the poor mum burst into tears. This little boy, now in the arms of his crying mother who probably feels guilty for the way her child looks, was so full of life and happiness! I wonder what will happen when he learns that everyone is laughing at him, not with him. Will he change from the happy ball of energy I saw, to the victim of every school yard joke? Will he want to get surgery to change the way he looks so that he can stop being bullied? Will He be able to handle what life has unfairly thrown at him, or become another teenage tragedy? I empathize with this kid so much, I hope he can rise above the challenge and smile despite the odds! Even though he shouldnt have to.
