A little deep thinking for the day...(any comments that are condescending or obnoxious I will delete as it is my thread and you can make your own ;) But...so here is my understanding. · Many of the most popular Christmas customs – including Christmas trees, mistletoe, Christmas presents, and Santa Claus – are modern incarnations of the most depraved pagan rituals ever practiced on earth. Everyone, Christian to Atheist has the right to celebrate this Holiday and make it about whatever they want it to be in current times because frankly who cares why it was done centuries ago. Many if not all things we do today have ties that were very offensive that long ago and in no way is why we do them today. So Im just curious if this is a common understanding to most everyone but most commonly this Holiday is celebrated in current days to signify the birth of Christ regardless of correct date of birth but more for the significance of coming together about something that is important in your life (celebrating Jesus). I can totally understand this and I in no way thing an exact date is important Im just curious and if this is the case and it is just what you make it then isnt also just as completely acceptable for non believers to make it about whatever they find to be appropriate. Just thinking and trying to understand others perspectives and not just what I was told or raised to believe by someone who does not actually celebrate the Holiday.
