A little delayed, but heres an update on my TCS New York City - TopicsExpress

A little delayed, but heres an update on my TCS New York City Marathon build-up from last week. Things are rolling along nicely, and I am continuing to progress each week. The hay is almost in the barn, but there are a few barrels to be lifted before I can put up my feet. Last weeks training was a great confidence booster for me. It actually started out pretty rough, as I ended up taking Monday off. This is usually my long run day, but I was so tired from the previous weeks work load (at my job), that when I started my run, I knew about 2 minutes in that it was not my day. I quickly turned around, rested all day, and got up before work the next day to do 21 miles, and I actually felt really strong! Probably the best training decision I have made during this marathon preparation. As a result of taking that day off, my training for the remainder of the week was great. I know that had I pushed through a long run on Monday, not only would the experience have been terrible, but I probably would have set myself up for tired legs the rest of the week. Monday: Off Tuesday: 21 miles in 2:10:38 Wednesday 9.2 miles in AM, 4 miles in PM Thursday: 4.92 miles in AM, 9 miles in PM Friday: 11*1 mile w/ 1 minute rest- 5:05, 5:05, 4:59, 5:00, 5:02, 4:59, 4:59, 5:00, 4:58, 5:03, 4:55 (5 minute pace average). 14.5 miles total 3 miles shake-out in PM Saturday: 11 miles in AM, 4 miles in PM Sunday: 10.12 miles in AM, 4 miles in PM Total for the week: 94 miles (6 days) Stay healthy and embrace the journey! -Stephan
