A little known church in Manila. Temple Emil or Congregation Beth Yaakov. Built in 1908; was burned in 1945 and rebuilt in 1948. It stood on a very large lot near the corner of Quirino and Taft Ave. In the 1970s the congregation moved to Makati but still retains the property--It was for many years the headquarters of Avon.. The synagogue was named after a prominent auto dealer-Emil Bachrach. The Temple owns a small section in North Manila Cemetery
