A little long...but well worth the read for young and old ALIKE !!! #justmythoughts Maturity...This is a Blessing that ONLY comes with age (some sooner than others), trials and tribulations. Maturity, or lack thereof, is the reason why the young often cannot understand the direction of wisdom espoused by their elders and charge ahead into unfortunate situations in life. Maturity is the passing of the tests that life sends your way. Living has gotten increasingly harder for the younger generations, although the world and technology are moving forward at a rapid pace, Our youth seem to be regressing at a rate much faster than the lapse of time it took our elders to gain what precious steps forward, paved with the lives of our forebears, to gain equality and respect. The foreboding forecasts of what true equality and democracy for the freed slaves and their descendants would mean to a budding nation. as argued in Senatorial and Congressional sessions, are perceived to be true by the long time detractors and oppressors of our people due to this simple, yet complex fact. Aided by legislation of the day that supported the segregationist attitudes and behavior of this society, the fight for freedom and equality is lost on the younger generation due to not having a true front seat ride through any part of the violent era of change. The RIDICULOUS measures of success hammered into the conscious of todays youth is in no way a mistake. Those of us old enough to remember music before rap know that inner city children had the big dream of being a pro athlete...There werent many positive choices, and perceived menial jobs were ridiculed, tainting the minds of those that would someday wished they had relied on that very same means of employment to survive. A garbage man makes MORE than a teacher...yet THATS what you were told you could end up as...or worse, youll probably be dead before youre 18...truly inspiring words to a young man born destitute and living in poverty with a future as bright as a closet, in his opinion. Our history MUST be passed to our young, yet it must be done correctly. The direction of change should be clearly delineated for them and the importance and progress of keeping their eyes on the prize should be as much a DAILY ritual as feeding and clothing our children, their FUTURE really does depend on it. Television is affordable to all for a reason, ART IMITATES LIFE. Count the number of positive images of our race then do the same for negative images and portrayals of the same for just 24 hours....if your eyes dont open wider at the sheer implications of this imbalance, you have been WHOLEHEARTEDLY indoctrinated into the subversive genocidal plan for us. Talking to our youth doesnt cost a dime, just a minute of our time....What is our time REALLY worth when the ultimate outcome is regression of the race when the conversations are muted or stifled ? NOTHING...our oppressors COUNT ON THAT FACT ! And lastly...IMAGE !! How we represent ourselves publicly to a section of a larger society that, has enough power to hold sway over the lives and future of our children and future descendants, yet hold firm to ignorant stereotypes of a people they refuse to interact with, should be high on the list of priorities. Even I personally cannot take a man serious if he does not show that same seriousness of character in his lifes mission. Seeing is BELIEVING and walking the walk always supercedes the talk ! Lets DO BETTER as a people....its time we get this train BACK ON TRACK !!! #thirdeyeopen inspiration sparked by my Brother Mason Jus June...They NEED to hear it !!! #eachoneteachone
