A little more than four years ago my life changed. It was December 2010 and my family had decided to spend Christmas at Walt Disney World. On Christmas Day we were eating a Mickey shaped ice cream cone in front of Cinderella Castle when a Disney cast member approached us and wished us a merry christmas. I noticed that her name tag said she was from St. Joe, Missouri (roughly 15 minutes away from where I grew up). We then began to talk about how in the world she got from little old St. joe to Disney. She told me about all about talking part in the Disney College Program and then moving up in the company from there. Something dawned on me that day. I had always had a passion for art and making others smile. Why couldnt I work turn this passion into a profession at Disney? From that moment on my desire to work for Disney has consumed me not just to work hard, but to strive to be the best in everything I do. That mindset led me to college at Park University which is preparing me for a potential career at Disney. Even my study abroad in Florence, Italy has improved my art skills for a career at Disney. Everything in my life serves the purpose, feeds my hunger for eventually achieving my dream of becoming an Imagineer at Disney. Although there has been a few bumps in the road, I am happy to say I have never given up and have become a stronger person because of these stumbles. I am filled with joy as I get to share with every one of you that I have taken the first substantial step in achieving this dream. this January I will be living in Orlando, Florida for four months as an intern for DISNEY!!!!!! Thank you for everyone who assisted me in getting this far! I have a long way to go but my dream is finally becoming reality:)
