As a Camera Ready Community Liaisons, last year Angie Bass Singletary and I had three ride around visits from a Hunger Games locations scout and some crew. I later got a phone call from the scout, apologizing about not using us, stating everything was ok, but the decision makers had decided to hold tighter around the Atl area, where personnel and equipment were more plentiful, along with the in and out convenience to Atlanta for folks from the west coast. We considered the visits a plus, and great exposure for our area, as these people are steadily looking as you ride them around. We made stops in Cordele, Leslie and Cobb, Rochelle, and Ashburn, even going up into the Clock Tower of the Turner Co Courthouse. At Christmas, my niece Deena Mathis Britt was telling us about seeing Hunger Games filming just a week earlier inside the Marriot Marquis, Atlanta, where they were staying while up there on a teacher conference. I said, girl we almost had them folks just a few miles south of your house....lol....It is only a matter of time before you see a film crew somewhere in your neighborhood, as the film business in Georgia has went from approx 1 bil to close to 4 bil now in the last 4.5 years.
