A long time ago there was a boy coming from a family not blessed materially and financially but they lived through hardships and they were blessed with all the love they could get from their parents like most of families living in the province. Being the youngest of seven children, the chances of gaining proper school education was very slim. Faced with challenges, the boy struggled to gain proper education and insisted that it was the best way to alleviate from poverty. Bringing a pencil and 1 improvised notebook made of extra paper leaflets sewn together, he walked to school for about 10 kilometers away from their home most of the times without any food for lunch or just a cup of rice wrapped in a banana leaf. Inspite of the sacrifice, he finished elementary and high school with honors. Inspired by his dream, he wanted to earn a college degree so he worked as a university security guard, he continued to be a working student and finished just 2 years of college at the university he was guarding. Encouraged by his older brother, he enlisted to be a member of the Philippine Constabulary, because of his wisdom and personality, he gained simultaneous promotions on his service. He married a very wonderful and caring woman and had 4 children. His wife, a loving Ilocana, a graduate of Nutrition was devoted on being a loving housewife caring for her four children. Gifted with cooking skills, she helped her husband by selling viands and merienda to neighbors. Armed with love and hope they strived to send their children to school. Their eldest finished college as CumLaude at UP Manila, the 2nd child is a registered nurse now working abroad, the 3rd a Captain of the Phil Natl Police, an Engg grad and a licensed Criminologist now striving to become a lawyer and the youngest a registered nurse and licensed Physical Therapist. All these were the fruits of all the hardship and sacrifice of a once young boy who is now turning to 70 years young and his very caring and loving wife.
