A long time friend, (and I mean long time as in she used to babysit me), posted this today and I couldnt LOVE it anymore. Read it. Think about it. Let it sink in. Taking care of yourself NOW, will have a huge payoff in the future. I hear gripes about how expensive it is to eat healthy, or how fitness programs cost too much, but think about this... preventative maintenance is the key to a healthy and fulfilling life, one free of outrageous medical expenses down the line. Thank you Deanna, for letting me share. I was recently at Whole Foods (wha?? Shocker) and I learned from the employees that they get a 20% employee discount. That discount goes UP based on the results of a physical - weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. The healthier you are, the greater your discount. I think this is genius and all companies should reward a healthy lifestyle. For the small amount that WF could be losing on the bigger employee discount, imagine what they are saving on medical with less docs appts, prescriptions, etc. I dont think that the general American population comprehends the fact that if you are healthier overall, you will save money on medical. Do you think if more companies did this it would make a difference in how Americans took care of themselves??
