A long trip.. A stressful trip at times. It is hard to do a trip this ambitious and doubly challenging with family (triple with small kids). Approximately 12,000 kilometers. We saw rhino, elephants, leopards, lions, zebra, springbok, Impala, pythons, puff adders, wind scorpions, giraffe, hippos, fisher Eagles, and more. We saw the Okavango delta (one of the only inland deltas in the world and difficult to reach. We saw Victoria Falls. We saw 10,000 year old cave paintings. We ate dinner in the Serengeti at night with armed guards and drove through the kalehari dessert in Botswana. We ate mopani worms and stood where Livingston and Kipling stood. We saw poverty at its best and worst. We got eaten by bugs, skin burned, and flu-ish. I wouldnt do this trip again--- but I would like to thank Linda Maher again for doing so much work planning a trip that did so much in so little time so that her grandkids could have an experience they will remember forever.
