A lot has been made out of the fact that Obama has deemed ISIS/ISIL/IS not Islamic. People are rightfully puzzled that an organization that has the word Islam so prominently in its name, and invokes Islam over and over again in order to justify its every action, would not be considered Islamic. However, what people are forgetting is that Obama is the most militantly Islamic person in the world, and the most prominent Islamic leader since at least the time of Mohammed. So if he doesnt think that some group or organization is Islamic enough, then the least we can do is respect that opinion. Intellectual honesty and consistency require nothing short of that.
