A lot is talked about the correct diet for people. In fact there is no one diet suitable for everyone as we are all different. But what did we eat when our physiology was developing thousands of years ago? It is interesting to consider that question. What we think we know is that humans gathered together in groups of about 50 people, and set up a sort of dwelling place of about 200 square miles. When we had eaten all there was to eat in that area, we moved on. Remember there were not many humans around in those days. We only learned to start a form of agriculture about 40,000 years ago, when we put a wall of sorts around ourselves to keep our domesticated animals in and marauding animals out. So what was available to be eaten, again remember we were probably somewhere in the centre of Africa, in a warm environment? I suppose we ate what we could pluck from trees and bushes, dig up in the way of tubers, pound grasses into some sort of meal, raid birds’ nests for eggs and spear fish in rivers. Perhaps we caught the odd grub and simply ate it. I suppose we did manage to catch the odd animal and eat it. Remember there was no fire to cook with at that stage. That came much later. So what we ate was uncooked and organic. No domesticated animals. No milk. No gluten grains. No sugar, although we may have raided bees’ nests. How different is today’s diet!? All the sugar and chemical additives, and just about everything swamped in milk, which is highly inflammatory. And we cook just about everything. Hardly anyone eats uncooked raw foods these days, and so much is microwaved, which destroys all the goodness in the food. So give a thought to what you eat. Try to eat as much as possible of food that is not cooked, but organic and fresh. Try to avoid all sugar and chemical additives. Keep an eye out for GMO contaminated foods coming across to the UK. All the items are in peak ripeness when they are picked. You couldn’t eat that amount of items in a day.
