A lot of ROK-US anti-DPRK North Korean human rights activist NGOs - TopicsExpress

A lot of ROK-US anti-DPRK North Korean human rights activist NGOs are either partly funded by ROK or US governments or highly reactionary conservative US oligarchs (at least in the US) who not only fund these ideologically oriented private groups within the country but also abroad to shape and move public opinion. Freedom Foundation (who these two hosts work for in Seoul), Daily NK, LiNK, etc. all are partly funded this way. For one, you can trace the funding all the way to David Koch who with his brother (and friends like the Waltons) also funds CATO, Heritage Foundation, ALEC, etc. Sure the NGOs get private donations too from individuals and students just like us. But a significant portion of their funds likely come from either governments (e.g., the NED and who knows maybe the CIA too) or these oligarch financed foundations. Its not that there is anything bad about it - for example, the ROK and US are in a war after all with the DPRK. And the oligarchs want to protect their business environment. But, information is power and this narrow influence has a disproportionate impact on public opinion...
