A lot of my friends know I went to D.C. for a week to be a part of Operation American Spring. I returned home yesterday and while I did post some replies I didnt take time to post how my experience went for you all. I was exhausted. This time is ranked up there with getting married and the birth of my babies in the highlights of my life. It was an absolute honor- no other way of saying it. I didnt even find the group on my first day...on May 16th.. the day Ive dreamed about for months. Our camp got hammered with something around 4 inches of rain the night of the 15th- I woke up the morning of the 16th with 2 flooded bridges between me and the rally... by the time I got there they had moved away from the rally points I knew of... and numbers were in deed lacking from the millions I had dreamed of... I never found them on the 16th.... my old knees gave out. I as crushed. Thankfully my daughter looked at the site for me and reported they were in deed there. Day 2- found the group soon after I arrived in the AM at the foot of the Washington memorial. They needed somebody to carry a banner and were happy to accept my offer of help. These people are awesome. Ive heard so many comments about them being rednecks and so far right that I simple couldnt show up in any other garb but bright tie dyes and work pants. They didnt care. Its not about any ideals specifically other than returning our rightful law- the constitution, back to its rightful place- the law of our land. We then did a silent march on the White House. In ranks of 4 to honor the fallen men in Benghazi. Once we got to the White House the vets turned their backs on the White house while the members of the group Anonymous stood back to back to watch the White House. I had the honor of marching next to a woman who suffers from fibromyalgia. Her pain caused her to walk with a slight limp and she stumbled on occasion. When she bumped into me she apologized profusely. I didnt know this womans name but as God is my witness if she had needed carried back to base camp I would have taken her as far as these old knees would allow. It was an unspoken vow, we all had each others back. Our number were low- 2,000 perhaps on the first day ( I didnt get to see all them), maybe 1,000 for day two and the week days 100 plus, but the quality and dedication of these people made up for the numbers. This last week was a near total success. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we had the numbers we hoped for- a lofty goal, if this had happened Im convinced wed be free of these jackasses right now- this instant. Their own people are against them. I personally saw the evidence. If we stand against them the whole damn thing will fall in like a house of cards. The police came to us in support. Not officially since these men acknowledged it would cost them their jobs... but I personally witnessed two cops giving us a thumps up. We asked them to take some photos with us and they couldnt...understandable, we all have families to feed. That is exactly why this is a no fail proposition if we take time to make it succeed- we all have families who are suffering for a few rich bastards. Day 3. We had the honor of hand delivering hard copy articles of impeachment and our list of grievances along with information about Benghazi to every member of the house and the senate. The first building of Representatives we targeted went off without a hitch. 50 volunteers each took five unsealed packets to whichever person the luck of the draw gave them- then we went back for 5 more. Building two was a bit tougher. I suspect somebody- be it security or a Rep.. called the second building and told them to stop us. Security in the Cannon Building told us we werent allowed to deliver packets we would have to email or snail mail them- that wasnt acceptable. A few members had phones and called the switchboard then the Reps and asked if they would send somebody out for the packets...and a few of them did. We were allowed to enter without the packets so I wrote my room numbers down on my hand and went inside to ask if they would retrieve said packets outside- two of my five said no they wouldnt. When I got back to the group security saw we werent going away and was allowing us to take one at a time inside... I heard a suggestion of shoving several inside the first so I tried it. The guard let me pass and he had to know what Id done since he had to swab the packet with a paper to show it it contained a hazard. It was super sweet to give the packets to the Reps who had refused going outside to retrieve them! Bottom line my friends. The groundwork has been done. Its your call. Do we live under a government who is run by corporations and banks...or do we say no. From what I saw its simply a matter of us enforcing our will on them and the majority of even the people in Washington are going to join us in the effort- they live here too. oas2014/
