A lot of people have been been post posting on this board about having problem with being assaulted, groped, having their dogs kicked, or in a police report that Scot shared, having someone try to eat their babies leg. Living near skid row, there are a lot of people who have psychotic problems. Those people actually give the normal homeless people a bad name. I wanted to be sure everybody on this board knows about the business improvement districts (BIDs/shirts) They pay for people whose sole job is to provide security to the different areas. The 24 hour dispatch number is 213-624-2425. They can get people who handle psychotic people to the scene faster than cops and you dont have to deal with it at all. Ive called them three times for people screaming at normal people, once for a fight in Rite Aid, and once for water rushing out of the sidewalk. If you see someone acting out or yelling at people, call the BID. It literally takes 30 seconds to get people who deal with these issues on a daily business to the scene. Even if you can easily cross the street to get away from the person, but the next person might not be able to do that, and they (or their dog) might be the one who is assaulted/kicked/groped. Lastly, I think every person (especially women) in DTLA should have pepper spray. A lot of the stories shared on this board could have been solved if everybody had pepper spray. If a person kicks your dog, spray them. If someone hits your, spray them. If someone tries to steal your baby, spray them. A lot of schitzophrenics haves urges and wants and the reason they do them is because the punishment doesnt outweigh their own internal benefit. If a dog kicker knows she has a 50% chance of getting sprayed with each dog kick, she probably wont do it anymore. Even the threat of spraying will probably stop a lot of these incidents. Ill buy them in batches of 10 and distribute them as needed.
