A lot of people like to use their age to bully themselves around in a time of a given culture. Just because technically they were Alive at the time of an event or series of events taking place, does not mean entirely anything. Just because a person was around at the time something was going down does not mean they are a viable Valid source of information for the history of something. This pertains so very much to Hip Hop culture but anything in life. For example, You have guys, who just because they were around back then try to say they know this that and the other and they expect people to come to them for everything under the sun history wise. Well there are people who in many degrees were around at the time, but did not necessarily participate in the activities of things hardly or enough. You got what we popularly call Spectators, onlookers and wannabees. For example in depth, There are many people from out here in my town who just because they were ten years old in 1981 and fooled around on the floor, does not mean they were actual B-boys on the Hip Hop scene, they just will remember other people doing it and vague scenes. Same with People Rapping. You have to be a player in the culture from back then to have lived the culture. And then the worst thing is when people lie or blow things out of proportion because younger people will not know any better. These are the dangerous ones because their lies are often a deceitful bi-product to a personal cover up from deep down inside of always have been wanting to be more down with something then they actually were not. Many times age is not a bonified factor that you had any part in anything. There were people who lived smack dab in the scene of something and had nothing to do with it, they were just Alive at the time. Their story, and versions or things may very well not be credible at all. I myself never go beyond my bounds as far as who I am, when I came onto the scene and what I know. I will tell you exactly what I saw, witnessed and participated in when I got on the scene. And If I dont know much about something or If I wasnt there I will not speak on it. However In terms of the scene in my own town, if someone tries to tell me a story, I will definitely know if it is true or not, because I am a Historian and Ive been puzzle piecing actual facts and stories that have been said for 20 plus years now, and the things that have been said by 3 or 4 people at different times Ive gathered arent just said because everyone is magically lying. There are repeated stories that are true because the stories going around were actual or those people all were there. If you do not have valid sources, facts and backups we have to question your authenticity. I dont care who you are or think you are. Not for nothing, I along with a select group of others are the only people who have almost total recall or Historical findings for what was going on in The Local scene of RI Hip Hop. My sources are all credible, I was either there myself, I have all the footage or I dug deep and kept at it for years without letting up and the truths come out.
