A lot of times women walk around complaining about not having - TopicsExpress

A lot of times women walk around complaining about not having received a Boaz, but weve completely forgotten to take any lessons from Ruth, the woman who snagged the real Boaz. (Im guilty of that myself) And on the other hand, men are like where are all the virtuous women? but they dont take any hints from Boaz. Here is just a list of my personal observations from my interpretation of Ruth: 1. Ruth would have never met Boaz if she had not suffered great loss/disappointment. (If her husband in Moab had not died before her, leaving her a young widow, she would have never re-married) 2. Ruth literally had to walk in Faith just to get in the position to meet Boaz. (After her husbands death, she refused to go back home to her own family, but instead chose to go a land where she would surely be treated as a foreigner with her mother in law. It was in that land that she met Boaz.) 3. Ruth was loyal and virtuous. (Ruth 1 & Ruth 3:11) 4. Ruth had to put herself out there a little to let Boaz know her true intentions. (She wasnt overly worried about being perceived as thirsty. She got dressed up and literally slept at Boazs feet in the threshing floor to show him that she meant business.) 5. Boaz looked out for Ruth from the moment he met her, long before they got married. (Despite her being a foreigner, he did something most other people in the area wouldnt do. He allowed her to pick grain from his field for herself and her mother in law. He protected her from people who mistreated foreigners.) 6. Before they got married, Boaz was already Ruths Jay-Z. In other words, he furthered her success. (Notice that Boaz, a wealthy man, didnt just give Ruth the grain from his field. He made sure people were kind to her so she could gather it herself. He did give her a nice meal, but he didnt hand his wealth over to her before they were married. He provided the assistance and support she needed to succeed herself.) 7. Boaz respected and valued Ruth before he married her. (As mentioned above, Ruth slept at his feet one night and even got under the covers with him. She was clearly ready to get chose. Instead of taking her as his wife and sleeping with her right then, he waited for the right time.) 8. Boaz was a man of integrity. He also didnt make Ruth wait tens years for him to wife her up. He recognized a good thing when he saw it. (Even though Boaz wanted to marry Ruth, he knew that lawfully another man had first rights to her due to the property inheritance rules. He went to that man the night after Ruth made her intentions clear and told him about his rights to marry Ruth, just to be up front. Luckily the man gave up his right to marry Ruth, so Boaz scooped her up with a quickness. ;-)
