A lot of what I learned was not taught but I had to find out on my own in books that were hard to find. We can not blame the teachers they too, do not know. Knowledge is power we have to tools to get it. But also the teachers need to think outside the box because 30 days a year to learn your history is not enough. We need to have it all integrated all year long. I am still learning about things that we use everyday that we thought was invented by someone that did not share my background only to find that was only stolen because the majority was told that Blacks were not intelligent enough to make anything of use, if it got out that Blacks were just as intelligent and that most of the inventions were made by them, then Non-Blacks could not keep a hold on power and say that they are superior to Blacks. It is up to us to teach our history, not what is whitewashed in the textbooks that are made as to not upset the balance of power and to keep that small minded way of thinking. So let your kids know that they can be the next person to change the world and never NEVER ever lit someone steal your dream again. Do not get me wrong I did not say anything against another race I only said that it is up to us to teach OUR history not someone else. Thank you
