A lovely letter to the editor today in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Paige McKenzie of Friendship mentioning the role of the GLCC, New Voices Pittsburgh: Women of Color for Reproductive Justice and Judah Fellowship ... thank you for sharing your thoughts Paige! Being three minorities in one has made my coming out a little tougher in conservative workplaces and in the black church. As Frederick Douglass said, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” I know that the thinking of a conservative state may not change overnight, but progress is being made. I would like to thank those who have been a part of making my coming out process easier. These organizations would be Judah Fellowship Christian Church of Pittsburgh, New Voices Pittsburgh and the Gay and Lesbian Community Center. I know that not all will accept the way I love, whether it is some churches, the conservative party and even some family. It’s great to know that if I choose to marry in Pennsylvania, it will be just as valid as my mom and dad’s marriage.
