A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Quezon province at around 7 p.m. Wednesday, with shocks felt in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon. The tectonic earthquake’s epicenter was located 40 kilometers east of Polilio Island, state seismologists said in a bulletin. It was also felt as intensity-3 shocks in Quezon City; Labo, Camarines Norte; Infanta, Quezon; and Arayat, Pampanga. Intensity-2 shocks have meanwhile been recorded in the cities of Makati, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Pasay and Antipolo as well as in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. In Caloocan City, the earthquake was felt as an intensity-1 shock, Philvocs said. No damage or aftershock is expected from the earthquake, it added.
