A mama asks: I need c-section risk statistics/ articles. The midwives handed my final decision over to the drs so I have to go in next week and defend my choice to try natural vaginal birth with a 10 lb plus baby. My first baby was 10 lb 11.6 oz with mild shoulder dystocia, I had an episiotomy that went to 4th degree tear. So they think it would be safer to have a c-section. Its all going to be based upon the size estimate at 32 week ultrasound. I have statistics for all the rest (ultrasound in accuracy, shoulder dystocia, treatment) but am having a hard time with c-section. I would like statistics on the risks of cesareans. How often there are infections, complications from epidural, clotting etc. Risks for baby too, not premie cause I would never allow it early but any other issues. I want to be able to sit down with the dr and say if these are the stats and risks for dystocia vs these are the risks and stats from c-section then why wouldnt we do natural birth? C-section and depression correlation numbers?? Thank you for your help. #ICANSupport
