A man has been hospitalised following a stabbing in Northmead this morning. Shorty after 6am (Friday 1 August 2014), officers from Parramatta Local Area Command were called to the carpark of a factory on Briens Road. Police have been told a 55-year-old man had finished work at the location and was walking through the carpark when he was confronted by a man wearing black clothing. The pair was involved in an argument before the man stabbed the 55-year-old man in the upper thigh. He ran from the scene a short time later and emergency services were contacted. Police established a crime scene, which is being examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives. The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening. While the investigation remains in its early stages, police believe the men were not known to each other.
