A man has died after being hit by a truck in the Blue Mountains - TopicsExpress

A man has died after being hit by a truck in the Blue Mountains earlier in the month. About 1:50pm on Friday 9 May 2014, an elderly man was attempting to cross the Great Western Highway at Blackheath when he was struck by a semi-trailer. The 82-year-old local man sustained serious leg injuries and was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. He remained in Intensive Care where he died on Thursday 15 May 2014. A 46-year-old man, who was driving the truck, was not injured during the collision but taken to Katoomba Hospital where he underwent mandatory blood and urine tests. His truck was also seized for examination. Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
