A man is sitting next to a woman at a bus stop. He reaches into his pocket, pulls out his cell phone and makes a call. “This is John Smith and I’d like to know if you have a place in your organisation for a smart, hard-working, sales manager to oversee your sales staff”… “I see o.k. you already have a smart, hard-working sales manager and you like him very much. O.k. well thank you for your time and have a good day”. He hangs up and with a big smile on his face starts whistling and laughing to himself. This really puzzles the woman sitting next to him and with a touch of attitude she says to him “What are you so happy about? You just got rejected!” He turns and says to her “actually I didn’t. You see I am that bright, hard-working sales manager at that company, I just wanted to make sure that my boss Mr Jones thought so too”. Affirmation is a form of love. Almost everyone wants it.
