A man will face court over a glassing incident in Wollongong on Thursday. Police have been told about 5.30pm (Thursday 24 July 2014), a 26-year-old man was at a club on Crown Street when he allegedly became involved in a verbal argument with a 25-year-old man. A third man intervened and he was allegedly assaulted. Staff at the club escorted the injured man out of the club and the verbal argument ceased. A short time later, another argument ensued between the 25 and 26-year-old man, when the younger man allegedly threw a glass at a poker machine, causing it to smash. The older man suffered a cut above his right eye; however did not require treatment. About 1.30pm, Friday 25 July 2014, officers attached to Wollongong Local Area Command were contacted and commenced investigations. Following inquiries, about 8.30pm, police arrested a 25-year-old man at a home on Mercury Street and he was taken to Wollongong Police Station. He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and stalk/intimidate intend fear. The man was granted conditional bail, to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Tuesday 26 August 2014.
