Al-Baqarah, 2:183 Dear Brothers and Sisters, Assalamualikum, I pray that you are well. As the holy month of Ramadan is upon us once again, we at the British Muslim Heritage Centre are making final preparations to allow our brothers, sisters and children to utilise our facilities during this very special month. As always, we’ve made plans to make a crèche available during Salah Taraweeh. We’ll also be holding special Iftars every day during the last 10 days of Ramadan which will be open to everyone. (If you’re interested in sponsoring any of these Iftars, kindly let us know at the earliest possible opportunity as we’ll need to be able to make the necessary arrangements. An Iftar costs around £500, but you can also join other like-minded people to help sponsor one if this figure is beyond your individual means.) We’re also in need of dedicated volunteers (brothers and sisters) to help us organise and manage the various activities that we have planned for Ramadan. The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) said: “You should rush towards virtuous deeds before you are overtaken by turbulent times…” and “Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” Your help would go a long way in supporting arrangements for our Muslim families during the month of Ramadan and Insha’Allah your contribution will benefit you in this world and the next.
