A message from Mr. Rikkers, Director of the Marching Royal Dukes: To all those who are graduating today, I want to congratulate you on your accomplishments and thank you for your contributions to our program and to the JMU community. I hope you enjoy the conclusion of your undergraduate career and can look back with fond memories of the great times you have had, and the FANtastic people you have met along the way. You will certainly be missed as a marching member of our program, but I look forward to hearing about your successes when you come and visit us as an MRD alumnus. JMU has grown you as a person, but nothing measures up to the challenges that life will bring you in the future. At the last game of this season, I mentioned that our program is not only built off of the success of our performances, but rather the success of our students as people. As you move on, stay connected with the people who you became close with, and be sure to thank the people who have supported you so far: your family, friends, neighbors, etc. I look forward to your continued involvement with the university. Your connection to us is personal, and I hope that you understand the value in your connection to JMU as graduate, and as an MRD. Once a duke, always a duke. Congratulations, and all the best, SR
