A message from Senator Tarte: Neighbors, friends and supporters: The elections are finally over – halleluiah, no more political ads for a while, and the campaign signs will be gone this week. From Tuesday’s election I was deeply honored that you gave me the opportunity to continue to serve you in Raleigh as your Senator from District 41. I am forever thankful for the team of people who worked on my re-election. I hope I set a good example by speaking about accomplishments from my first session in the General Assembly and my goals for the coming legislative biennium, keeping my message positive. You rewarded this approach to campaigning, and for this I say thank you to each and every one of you. I thank everyone for the congratulations and well wishes. Together we have tried to make sure that we have selected as our representatives people with grounded principals, a commitment to public service for the right reasons, and who hopefully possess a little good old fashioned common sense. I personally want to continue to try to be thoughtful, hard working, and open-minded. I am especially proud of my neighbor and long time friend, who is actually my constituent, Senator-elect Thom Tillis, who will be serving us in Washington, D.C. We have incredibly high expectations of Thom. He is one of the few I truly believe will be able to make things happen for the betterment of all of our lives. Also I want to recognize my good friend who has big shoes to fill, NC Representative-elect John Bradford. I have every belief John is going to be a rock star. I look forward to working side-by-side with John to do great things for folks in the Lake Norman area, Mecklenburg County and for every citizen in our great state. Our campaign team will be coming around to pick up signs and help de-litter our streets. If we miss a sign, please pick it up for me. My work continues as even this week I returned to Raleigh to attend oversight and working committees. We are in exciting times. I love this job that you graciously allow me to do. I never forget you are my boss. Please do not hesitate to let me know how I can serve you. Respectfully, Senator Jeff Tarte
