Talat Sir, Listening to your radio show on Soundcloud while sitting in my London office - looking out at the dreary weather and endless amounts of work - pondering about the meaningless-ness of it all. You should know - your work on Carvaan-e-Ghazal is really reaching people around the world. It is especially interesting to hear your observations of the finer points of other legends - such as the khamaj based rendition by Mehdi saab in Muhabbat Karne waale. You play true musical gems which Indian listeners would otherwise not be exposed to - I am truly grateful for your work. And very kindly you translate the difficult urdu poetry for the common hindi speaker (reminded me of Jagjit ji in his live concerts). Would love to attend whenever you have a concert in London. Some thoughts I should share with you: 1) Please try to investigate why there is so much static in the episodes uploaded on soundcloud - it takes away from the online listening pleasure of an otherwise great show. 2) Nice to see such positive historical references mentioned on the show - much of the present day communal tension in India/South Asia stems from misinformation and misrepresentation of our history. Strongly agree with your views on formation of an amalgamted culture as a mix of Indic and Persian. An understanding and appreciation of the above is key to promoting a liberal mindset. 3) Really like that you sing live on the show - this is what makes it different than any other ghazal show on Indian radio.
