A message from one of our awesome moms, Lora Carpenter: A really important thing happened at Penzeys Spices yesterday while Beyond the Spectrum was there promoting our Giving Challenge... A Penzeys customer comes into the store and realizes we are raising money and awareness for Autism. He proceeds to tell his story of being the single father of two young girls with Autism. He is raising them on his own and in need of services as the girls transition through the public education system. He was thrilled to find a non-profit organization in the community as an alternative to other less viable options. It was really nice to spend time with someone who spoke the same language and in need of information!! By participating in the Giving Challenge, Beyond the Spectrum was able to give to someone in need....awesome stuff!
