A message from our Councillor: Good evening Some of you may have received an sms today from the City of Johannesburg (impressive technology!) with a video clip of the Pikitup MD, Amanda Nair telling us of the intensified Pikitup strike from tomorrow. Ms Nair mentions contingency plans for residential waste removal but I think there are going to be lots of hiccups, to say the least. We can all try to do our little bit by separating at source, which cuts down garbage by more than half and lets keep our own pavments and gutters clean. IF YOU NOTICE ANYONE DUMPING BLACK BAGS ON THE PAVEMENT, PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE AND CALL ME IMMEDIATELY. Please pass this message on. Labour unrest is a very difficult issue and I am sure they are doing everything possible to come to an agreement.
