A message received from a named friend of the Bugle "It is becoming apparent that Lanark is possibly one of the most dangerous towns in the region to drive through, or be a pedestrian in. When coming onto Steels Cross from KFB brae, your view is severely hindered to the left by a large lamp post. A similar danger exists for pedestrians at the crossing by fringes. The traffic light pole is to the right, limiting visibility up Bannatyne Street. This may have already contributed to a tragedy already. Surely in these health and safety conscious times, something can be done about these potentially deadly obstacles. We also have a major problem with access being severely hindered by illegal parking at the Halifax Bank of Scotland, outside Hughes and Castlegate Cleaners, and at the Cross. Dangerous parking like that should surely be enforced by the Police, as once again it is a tragedy waiting to happen. Thank you for your time, and hope that you can accommodate my letter. "
