A message to ALL APS teachers, librarians, counselors and related service providers as you say farewell to Summer 2014 and hello to the 2014-15 School Year: The ONLY reason that you are allowed to work at a school of YOUR choice is that YOUR UNION drew a line in the sand and refused to give up YOUR transfer rights. The ONLY way THE ALBUQUERQUE TEACHERS FEDERATION was able to accomplish this was through the support of MEMBERSHIP DUES that paid for staff and negotiators to hold that line. If you are not a member, you will still be able to do what is right for you, your family, and school community by choosing the school in which you teach ONLY because MEMBERS STOOD TOGETHER AND PAID THEIR DUES. The ONLY way that ATF will be able to continue to support the rights of staff and to do what is best for students, regardless of the whims of the BOE and Administration, is to STAND TOGETHER. If you are not a member of ATF, I and other MEMBERS will be asking you to JOIN this year...please consider helping to pay for the benefits that you now receive for free.
