A message to all members of our support group and others in the myeloma community: We had a wonderful meeting on Wed. Sept 18, 2013. We had 20 people attending including new members Gary and Cindy. We also welcomed back Karen Miller who has returned after a recent transplant. We were very fortunate to welcome Dr. Melissa Alsina from Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Not only was she my transplant doctor but she was the transplant doctor for most of us who have had recent transplants at Moffitt. She explained the process and how it can benefit myeloma patients. We have some members like Tim and Gary who are having transplants at Moffitt very soon. We also wish our member Ed Moen the best of luck as he prepares for an allo transplant (his donor is his sister). We thank Jennifer from Millenium for a great dinner. If you were not with us, please know that you were missed. We wish everyone the best and hope to see you at future meetings. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 16, 2013. Thanks for your participation.
