A message to all property owners from Integrity Electric. We are finding out with the new 2014 NEC electrical code updates that minor repairs will become a thing of the past. The reason for this is that one of the biggest changes states that if we need to repair a damaged circuit that does not have a ground going back to the service panel (circuit breakers). Since homes with fuses will not be able to be repaired of any 120 volt 15 20 amp circuit to be added without ding a complete service upgrade. The electrical contractor will need to add a new AFCI circuit breaker or receptacle to that damage circuit providing a ground is going back to the service equipment. Both are requiring the additions of AFCI circuit breakers to the electrical system to each circuit that we needed to repair or replace.
