A miracle dog has been welcomed home safe and well after somehow - TopicsExpress

A miracle dog has been welcomed home safe and well after somehow surviving a half-hour journey trapped inside a car engine. ‘Betty Boop’, a three-month-old Jack Russell, managed to climb up through the engine of a neighbour’s Audi A4 before becoming stuck. Gavin Juliette, 42, drove the 12-mile round trip from Ordsall to Swinton to pick up his mother-in-law before hearing barking coming from the engine as he arrived home. Betty Boop’s adventure started when she escaped from her garden and wandered off. Her owners quickly realised and began panicking, but she was nowhere to be seen. The little dog found herself stood on a plastic shelf inside the engine but couldn’t move after getting her head wedged between pipework. The heat, the exhaust, the wiring, all could have done her in. There are many stories of cats rescued from similar predicaments since cats like the warmth and will crawl up into the cars. Honking is recommended before you start the car if you suspect animals might be using it as shelter. WoW
