A mix of 22 local artists and managers/organisers from the arts, community and social sectors came together for a workshop spanning 5 sessions from 19th to 28th November. Held at Goodman Arts Centre, it was a chance for the group to delve into the “whys” and “hows” of evaluating arts programmes for various communities. The workshop covered: basics of evaluation; quantitative and qualitative research; how to develop realistic outcome indicators; and how to validate evaluation through various sources. The participants tried out some tools for evaluation, such as interviews, questionnaires, documentation and social media through a simulated art-making process. Through regular discussions, participants were able to learn from each other’s experiences and challenges, and were eager to take the lessons learnt back to their work and communities. #scya #Singapore #contemporary #young #artists #community #social #givingback #2012
