A most disheartening and disappointing day. I started going to a new dermatologist (my old one and I were quite incompatible, since Im not a masochist) and was hoping to go in and get a couple of biopsies, keep my fingers crossed for a negative result, etc. Then find out I dont have to come back for 6 months and Im in remission! Sounds great, right? But no, it went sideways from the start. 17 new moles we will have to watch for 3 months. Im actually on the border between stage 1 A&B, my melanoma is too agressive for the size they are. My first derm had told me I looked good, but told me my melanoma wasnt even staged. And the partial mastectomy I had done had cysts (plural) under them and it needs to be redone. But I have to get a lymph node biopsy done first to make sure it didnt become lymphatic/lymphoma or spread throughout the breast and have a radical mastectomy done. I might be able to get the partial mastectomy and the lymph biopsy done at the same time, but Im now looking at being tethered to the dermatologists office every 3 months. Knock on wood, I can have 8 visits with no growth or mutations, etc. Then I will finally be in remission for at least 6 months. I cant believe I am already looking at two more surgeries before I even hit my year mark. I need a good cry. :(
