A mother shares her story... Its so nice to finally find a support group that people acknowledge. Nobody seems to use any on facebook & its quite hard to find a actual group from where Im from in the uk. My baby was.born at 28 weeks 1lbs 15 2 months later she got NEC which was.devestating & scary to see her so poorly after.already fighting so hard. Eventually she had surgery to remove her dead bowl and had a stoma for 7 months which was.incredibly hard work but 6 weeks ago olivia had her reversal operation & is doing well. During her seriously poorly time she didnt get enough oxygen & as a result ended up with PVL which is white matter on her brain which effects her nerves & she also has epilepsy. Im just so happy her bowls are ok anything else we know we can handle. Even though what we went through was hard and scary i still count ourselves as lucky during our 3 months in NICU & returning for 2 operations we seen families going through much worse than us & it truly made me apprieciate that how horrible our situation was we.still got our beautiful baby girl at home with us.
