A mysterious banjo has been discovered in England which was originally signed by 28 soldiers of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in France from World War I. The banjo, somewhat dilapidated at this point in time, has been donated to the Canadian War Museum by a retired Windsor, Ontario deputy police chief. The mysteries surrounding the instrument are the identity of the original owner and why were the men away from the battlefield upon the time of their signatures. However, inquiries have led to the identity of one soldier from the Six Nations Reserve and his name will be added to a memorial for aboriginal veterans in Canada. The war museum has artifacts ranging from the smallest pieces of paper to grand machines of battle, yet the banjo is the only known instrument of joy and not that of destruction. #interestinginstruments vancouversun/entertainment/Banjo+mystery+from+First+World/9300260/story.html
