A near new-look team could actually work wonders for Australia, - TopicsExpress

A near new-look team could actually work wonders for Australia, who have had a nightmarish summer in England. George Bailey reached England to lead the T20 unit, which has a host of one-day specialists. The likes of David Warner, Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson will relish this opportunity. The good thing for Australia is that Watson found his touch with a breathtaking century at the Oval while Warner, after some significant booing from English crowds, will look to let his bat do some talking in a format that rocketed him to fame and cricketing stardom. Australia have of course had a torrid time in T20 cricket, winning only five of 19 games since June 2010 and that is a trend Bailey will look to check once the oldest rivals in the game lock horns on Thursday. The series will obviously lack the historic significance of the Ashes but there will still be a lot to play for. Neither side would like to take a step backward and the hurting Aussies especially will look to prove a point.
